The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him. – Nahum 1:7
Almighty Father, Everlasting God, you are Glorious in goodness and Majestic in Might, Righteous in Judgement and Merciful in Forgiving those who have erred against you and beg for upliftment. Your strength saves us repeatedly, from the evil at hand, and your compassion heals and restores the sinner who stands before you in repentance and absolute trust. Lord, you are our Refuge and we submit in humble adoration to you, knowing that you will never abandon your children, as you are a Faithful God.
God, as we endeavour in fulfilling your commission to us, we pray for the people of all nations of the world, where the Holy Gospel is yet to be acknowledged and where we need to reach out in our mission and bring those who are ignorant of you, the joyful news of your Holy Word, to enrich their lives and give them the hope of Salvation, through knowing and trusting you as the One, True, Living God, acclaimed over all the earth. We pray for your blessing on all peoples, for their true discipleship and the spreading of your gospel through them with holy trust and a boldness born of the Holy Spirit indwelling, counseling and guiding them.
Lord, we entreat you to grant enlightenment of your Holy Gospel, to open the eyes of unbelievers to the love of Jesus for them, that we all might find refuge and solace in you, and comfort and joy in the preaching and proclamation of the promises of the Gospel of Truth. We pray for your light to be seen and experienced by all, for the building of faith, hope and charity which is in accordance with the totality of your character and attributes, your goodness, and love, and your blessings and justice. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen
