Revelation 3:20

26 September, 2020

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20

Almighty God, we, your unworthy children exult in praise and gratitude that your steadfast love permits us to take refuge and shelter in your merciful provision. You delight in your creation and exhort us to repentance and victory over sin, to attain fellowship and communion with you and be saved through your grace forever.

Lord, your redemptive plan of salvation for us has opened the gates of heaven, and Jesus our Savior, has established a pathway through which we walk in the light and guidance of your Holy Spirit, in Christian unity and loving fellowship, by the establishment of his Church . Jesus, as the Head of the Church, urges us to repent and increase in faith before the night of judgment falls and it is too late.

Father, we are guilty of incurring your wrath by wrongdoings within your sacred precincts and seek  repentance for our sins. Many believers are guilty of committing apostasy and leaving the evangelical, apostolic, mystical Body of Christ, forming numerous denominations of ambiguous nature. We pray for our Church to stay true to your Word, and for unity amongst Christians, thus appeasing your just rage, by works of righteousness.

In this present time of destruction of the world by a deadly pandemic, we have been left bereft, the Churches are closed and we wait for the day when Christ will knock at the door and we can open it to again receive the Holy Eucharist. We feel orphaned and lonely. Revive us with heavenly nourishment, so that we can experience fellowship, communion and oneness with you, we fervently implore in Jesus’ Name. Amen
