For the wages paid by sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life through union with Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
Abba Father, Merciful, Compassionate and full of loving kindness, how great are you, God! For out of the fullness of your mercy, you redeemed sinful mankind from the pits, lifting them out of the depths of Sheol into the purifying light of your beneficent grace. We go down on our knees, testifying to the sublime nature and supremacy of the God of our Salvation. For though we fall short of your glory, you sent your only begotten Son to die for our sins, paying for each sinner, by the price of his Blood.
No amount of oblation, prayer, sacrifice and good works can ever earn us our salvation, it being a free gift from you, Father, bestowed upon each of those individuals who, aligning their lives with Christ, proceed at his side and approach your throne of justice through him. We consecrate our lives to living for Christ, in him, with him, for without him we are nothing and on our own we will never be acknowledged by you, Father, for Christ has redeemed and restored us to you.
Eternal life is our recompense from you Father, for living in absolute obedience to your Holy Will, according to your commands in the Holy Gospel, which prophesied the coming of our Messiah, to free us from bondage to sin and die, so we would die to our former selves. His resurrection and ascension into heaven promised us new life along with a new Spirit, holy and righteous and fully justified by Jesus Christ. Be with us Lord, as we bear our cross and be led to eternal life in you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
