GOD’S LOVING CARE THROUGH ANGELS
The Holy Guardian Angels remind us that God’s loving care surrounds us even when we cannot see it. Through His angels, He watches over, guides and protects His children.
“For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
— Psalm 91:11
THE ANGELS WHO GUARD THE LITTLE ONES
Jesus Himself speaks of the special care God has for children and the humble. He teaches that their angels continually behold the presence of God, revealing the dignity and heavenly protection given to His little ones.
“See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father.”
— Matthew 18:10
ANGELS WHO GUIDE OUR JOURNEY
The angel who accompanied Tobias shows that God can use His heavenly messengers to guide us through uncertain and difficult journeys. Raphael remained with Tobias, helped him overcome dangers and brought him safely back to his family.

ANGELS WHO PROTECT GOD’S CHILDREN
In the Old Testament, God promised His people the protection of His angel as they journeyed toward the Promised Land. The angel was sent to accompany them and guard them on their way.
“Behold, I send an angel before you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.”
— Exodus 23:20
ANGELS WHO STRENGTHEN US IN TRIALS
Angels can also be instruments of God’s strength when His children are suffering. After Jesus endured His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, an angel appeared and strengthened Him.
“And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.”
— Luke 22:43
ANGELS WHO GUARD US FROM DANGER
The Book of Daniel gives a powerful example of angelic protection. When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den because of his faithfulness to God, God sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions.
“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me.”

ANGELS WHO SERVE GOD’S PURPOSE
The Letter to the Hebrews describes angels as heavenly spirits sent to serve those who are to inherit salvation.
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?”
— Hebrews 1:14
ANGELS WHO LEAD US TOWARDS GOD
The Guardian Angels remind us that our ultimate destination is not merely earthly safety or happiness but eternal life with God. Their protection and guidance are signs pointing us towards Heaven.
“The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.”
— Psalm 34:7
LIVING UNDER THE CARE OF OUR GUARDIAN ANGEL
The feast of the Holy Guardian Angels invites us to cultivate gratitude for the invisible spiritual assistance God provides. We can honour our Guardian Angel by praying, avoiding sin, following God’s commandments and remaining faithful to Christ.
“For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you.”
— Psalm 91:11
PRAYER
Holy Guardian Angel, loving companion given to me by God, watch over me throughout my life. Protect me from danger, guide me away from sin and strengthen me whenever I am weak or afraid. Help me to recognise God’s presence, listen to His voice and faithfully follow the path that leads to Him. Keep me close to Jesus and Mary, and lead me safely towards eternal life. Amen.
