TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
27 OCTOBER, 2026
Luke 13:18-21
Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it? It is like a mustard seed that a man took and planted in the garden. When it was fully grown, it became a large bush and the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches.”

Again he said, “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch of dough was leavened.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

SUMMARY OF THE GOSPEL
Jesus compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed that grows into a large tree where birds can nest, and to yeast that a woman mixes into a large amount of flour until it permeates and leavens the entire batch.

REFLECTION
This passage reminds us that God’s work often begins in hidden and tiny ways. A small act of kindness, a brief prayer, or a quiet moment of faithfulness might seem insignificant, but God can multiply it to transform entire environments. We should not be discouraged by small beginnings or slow progress in our spiritual lives, because the Holy Spirit works quietly from within to bring about massive growth.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, plant the seed of Your word deep within my heart today. Even when my faith feels small, give me the grace to trust Your timing. Let Your love work quietly through me like yeast, transforming my thoughts, actions, and the world around me. Make me your own, dear Lord. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.
