This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1 John 3:16
Heavenly Father, your Divine nature is essentially compassionate and loving and the same nature is projected in Jesus Christ, your beloved Son and our Messiah and Redeemer. For he descended from you and his blood is yours. He shed this same blood to deliver us from the bondage of darkness, sin and death making us yours forever.
This testimony of your love for us, in the immeasurable sacrifice of Jesus laying down his life for us, ought to transform us into his likeness, to follow the perfect principle, of the love of God in the love of man. Lord, Jesus has taught us that we should never hesitate in displaying our faith to the world to the extent of laying down our lives for our Christian community, or implementing works of mercy for the common good and welfare of men, being duly called thereto.
You have given us the infinite gift of salvation whereby we are invited to share in your Heavenly Kingdom as co-heirs and more importantly as children of our Father and Creator. Help us we pray, to acknowledge the power of your divinity and in gratefulness that you have chosen us as the elite elect, to grow in faith and forbearance, trusting in your love and mercy, as we conform to your Will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
