1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

8 October, 2023

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Abba Father, we give you glory and worship your Holy Name, for as faithful Christians, aligned with Jesus by discipleship and commissioned to make known the Truth of eternal salvation which we have received by your Grace and your Son’s eternal sacrifice , we have entered into sonship and an inheritance in your Heavenly Kingdom. We are the members of Christ’s Body, his Church and it is our utmost responsibility to one another, to facilitate the working of your appointed ministers in their ministry, by aiding them and by respectful adherence to your Holy Will, and your doctrines, through the dedication and labour of your earthly administrators.

Help us Lord, to honor your teachings by loving and caring and by carrying out the various offices relegated to us with sincere devotion, exhorting all our brethren to unite in purpose and not seek profit and worldly benefits of the office. Instead, assist us in doing charitable works of mercy, and thus honor our mission to preach and teach your Holy Word with zeal and integrity. Help us uphold and respect the works of authority by our pastoral ministers, who labor tirelessly. For they manage the Lord’s institution, according to his laws, and directed to his service and glory as its end.

Lord, may we submit, in all humility, to the honest admonishing we may receive from our instructors, in the course of our duties, for only correction of areas in which we lack, will make us more perfect. We need to remember that their duties are rendered for the good of all, for the sake of our salvation. All reproof is meant to instruct and teach us, to counsel and correct us in the ways of learning and putting into practice the lessons we need to impart to those we reach out to. May we hold our peace in all situations and circumstances, for the service we render to the Lord in peace and love will be greatly rewarded in the house of the Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
