Ephesians 2: 8-9

13 September, 2020

For it is by his grace you are saved, through trusting him; it is not your own doing. It is God’s gift, not a reward for work done. There is nothing for anyone to boast of. Ephesians 2:8–9

Eternal Father, whose love for mankind overflows with goodness and kindness and is pure, absolute and beyond measure, we acknowledge you as our Maker and as God of the Universe, as Supreme Authority over all things, visible and invisible.

We have but to believe, and you lavish upon us the perpetual benediction of eternal salvation and the grace of being cleansed of our sins and made worthy to stand in your Presence and receive the commendation of redemption.

We are nothing but the dust of the earth, without your indwelling Spirit and we profess our unworthiness and rely completely on the trust in you Father, by faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus, which brings us empty before you, that we may be filled with the blessings of Christ.

We bow before you in humility and gratefulness that our belief alone, is sufficient to receive freely, the gift of eternal inheritance in your Kingdom and nothing we possess can add or take away from it. To you alone, we attribute all glory, honor and worship, along with the Jews and Gentiles who are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel, by virtue of faith and conversion.

Father, God of Justice and Peace, we pray that our steps, taken in faith, leads us before you. May your saving grace take our emptiness and clothe us with righteousness, bestowing upon us places of honor as your children with an everlasting communion with you and in you, through the merits of our Savior Jesus Christ and in unity with your Holy Spirit. Amen
