GOD USES SUFFERING TO SHAPE OUR CHARACTER
“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” – 1 Peter 5:10
It’s not easy to embrace suffering. Pain is something we naturally avoid, yet there are times when we must endure it, whether due to our own decisions or those of others. However, it is often during these difficult moments that we can hear God more clearly and are more open to transformation. Life on earth is filled with challenges, and suffering is a part of it.
Because God has called us to be with Him forever, He pours out His grace and favor into our lives, even when we must endure hardship for a season. Compared to eternity, even a century of suffering is brief. The Lord uses the trials we face, whether from our own choices or the actions of others, to “perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle” us. These experiences shape us into who we are meant to be.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You, Lord, for Your abundant grace and for standing by me through every trial and triumph. You never abandon me, and I can always rely on Your help. You have called me to share in Your eternal glory through Jesus. Even when I face suffering on this earth, You use these hardships to complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish me, molding me into the person You want me to be. All glory and praise to You, Lord God. Bless us in Jesus’ Name. Amen
