THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER
IN JESUS CHRIST WE ARE LIGHT
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. – Ephesians 5:8-10
While we were living in sin, we were in “darkness,” but since we belong to Jesus now, we should walk as “children of Light,” as now born to the Light. The way we behave speaks louder than our words. Sin and its bad effects cannot be hidden for long in one’s life, as the good fruit and benefits will not take long to show in the life of the one who lives right for the Lord.
Being “light” means to show the effects of Light, who is Jesus, which means the fruit of all goodness, righteousness and truth. We are called to learn what is pleasing to the Lord and then live it. Our lifestyles should express gratitude to our Lord God for saving and calling us to be His children, resulting in being an example for others.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Father God, please help me to be a true light that shines for Your glory in all I am and do. Please help me identify the lies of the enemy and fight against them with the truth of Your Word, so that I produce the fruit of the light and not of the darkness. Thank You Lord for all the goodness, righteousness and truth that comes from You in my life. Glory and praises to Your holy Name for ever and ever. Amen
