Psalm 147: 11

18 July, 2022

The Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy and loving kindness. – Psalm 147:11

Eternal God, you are the hope of all who worship you, in humility, for you make no distinction between the poor, and unknown.  All you desire is sincerity, honesty and the Holy fear of always being obedient and adhering to your Will. You acknowledge the solemn devotion of your congregation, the joy of true reverence and adoration and the heart that loves, adores and seeks you in all things. We lift up our prayer and praise to you, invoking your grace, and rejoicing in your favor, poured on those who seek you.

We are your lowly people dear Lord, living in fearful hope of your mercy. We believe that all the feeble, worthless and undeserving, are granted your great and incomprehensible mercy and compassion when we place our complete trust in you and call out to you with gratitude in your faithfulness. You know that without you we are nothing, and cannot, on our own strength advance on the path of righteousness. We depend totally on your omnipotence and benevolence, O Merciful Lord.

We are a perverse generation Lord, and yet, you forgive us and embrace us in the power of your love. You know our every weakness and strengthen and sustain us nonetheless, when we solemnly profess our faith and trust in your Divine Providence. You are all we need and want, for you reward us without measure each time we renew our faith and belief in you. Our salvation rests in your grace and favors poured out liberally on your faithful people who with patience and perseverance follow your divine plan, abiding wholly in Jesus the Lord. Amen
