If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14
Heavenly Father, you are the Most High and only you can offer us Refuge and Hope in times of sorrow and hardship. Our lives revolve around you, for you are the focal point and our lives take or lose direction according to how we perform the ordinances and statutes of the Covenant of your governance of us. We are mortals and unfortunately prone to seek worldly things and pleasures to assuage our troubled hearts, rather than surrender to you.
It is our transgressions, committed repeatedly, which provokes your anger against us and makes you withdraw from us. You wait, patiently and in gentle exhortation, reminding us that you are with us, the moment we seek you. You have already given us assurances of eternal life with you and all we need is to humble ourselves and acknowledge you as Lord and bow in repentance and reparation for dishonoring your Name by our iniquity, accepting the punishment for our wicked ways.
You are our Father and we meekly and in sincere apologies humble ourselves before you, praying for the removal of the judgment of our deeds. Lord, we are infinitely grateful that you never abandon us in our weakness, but are ready to lift us from the abyss of our misery, if we seek your grace and favor. Moreover, we promise to turn from depravity and decadence and return to our righteous God, for we have revolted against your goodness. Hear our cries Lord and liberate us from the darkness we have fallen into, in Jesus’ Name we appeal. Amen
